How to look after Chickens (It’s a piece of cake - just get the wife to do it)
Date: Category: Elsewhere

Keeping chickens is a very simple thing to do and very rewarding, I have two chickens - Ninja and Freddy (the daft names aren’t compulsory but that’s what you get when you let your two boys come up with the names).
Feeding time is also really easy. They eat chicken pellets, corn and every so often grit mixed in to help the girls create the shell. We have fresh eggs every day and the boys run to the chicken house to collect the still-warm eggs in the morning and then have them for breakfast, how cool is that! They also make great pets: they run around the garden together, sit on your knee to be stroked and love lots of attention. They are incredibly curious creatures and constantly follow you around the garden in the hope you might cast them a worm. They even try to sneak in to the house if everyone is inside to make sure they’re not missing anything.
Digging the veg patch over does take a little longer than it would normally as they are always around your feed looking for grubs and big fat worms, but its great fun and would recommend it to anybody.
